more about me
Dream Job to Disappointment
Standing outside the publishing house on my first day as a publishing assistant, I thought I had made it. This was my dream job – one I had worked tirelessly to land, the reason I obtained an English Literature Degree. As the days turned into months, that initial excitement was replaced with a lack of direction. The desk I had envisioned as the gateway to creativity began to feel like a cage. I felt an itch for something more, something dynamic and rewarding.
That itch led me to the unlikeliest place: door-to-door marketing. Far from selling trinkets or subscriptions, I worked with charities, championing causes that mattered. The role was challenging, but it lit a fire in me. For the first time, I experienced the thrill of seeing a direct correlation between effort and results. It taught me resilience, adaptability and the power of connection – lessons that would become foundational in my career.
From there, I ventured into e-commerce and advertising sales, immersing myself in the fast-paced world of digital marketing. Alongside this, I took up content writing as a side hustle, where I learned the intricacies of SEO and produced over 200 articles. Strategically, I focused on property investment and development – an area I’ve always been interested in. Writing about mortgages, I not only honed my craft but also built a knowledge base that continues to serve me today.
Freelance Freedom
Equipped with my growing expertise in content writing, PPC ads and advertising, I stepped into agency life. Here, I expanded my skill set even further, mastering tools like Canva, video editing and social media management. I ended up becoming homeless during this time and couldn’t keep myself together enough to hold down the job at the agency. Clients began approaching me for freelance work, I was working from nothing but an old iPhone 6s until I could afford a laptop, but with each new challenge, I embraced opportunities to learn. If I didn’t know how to do something, I taught myself or found someone to teach me how.
Before I knew it, my portfolio of skills had transformed. I could build websites, create compelling SEO content, design engaging graphics and produce brands that told powerful stories. I was writing PR pieces for Lawyer Monthly and Real Deals on a Tuesday afternoon like it wasn’t a big deal when less than a year ago I was struggling to find a bed to stay on.

Growth with Growth Works
My career took another leap when I was approached about a marketing role at Growth Works. At the time, the programme was struggling, but I saw the untapped potential. Through strategic rebranding and innovative marketing, I turned it into a thriving success. Seeing the results of that transformation reaffirmed my belief in the power of effective brand and marketing strategies.
The success of Growth Works opened the door to not only my first home but also my first official client under BMO – the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA) Growth Hub. I carried forward the legacy of Growth Works into the Growth Hub, building a network and reputation for delivering impactful results as well as bringing innovative features to life. The amount of opportunities and new relationships this role gave me opened my eyes to the potential I had always carried. I’ll never forget getting up on the stage at the Cambridge Small Business Awards to present an award, seeing all of the crowd looking up at me and feeling the immense sense of pride of realising how far I had come.
Today, I am passionate about helping businesses and individuals unlock their full potential. At BMO, I blend creativity, strategy and technical expertise to empower clients to be more. Whether it’s building a brand, optimising processes, or crafting compelling marketing strategies, my mission is to help businesses grow, thrive and succeed.
Every step of my journey has been led by curiosity, perseverance and an unwavering belief in continuous learning. From dreaming big to doing bigger, I’ve turned my biggest challenges into opportunities and now I’m here to help others do the same. Together, we can achieve incredible things. Let’s build something remarkable.
